So this morning, I came to work, and saw that all the parking bays were taken. I then went to the HOD and asked "What the devil! There are cars without permits in our spots! What is the meaning of this!" - Okay, not those exact words, but close enough. Turns out there was a funeral on. Didn't I feel downright stupid.

I blame having an upset stomach, preventing me from really eating anything for the past 3 days.. besides 4 chicken mcnuggets, half a packet of chips, a coke, 2 cruskits and Nutella, and a lot of orange juice. Sounds like a lot, for a day, but yeah.. I thought it was food poisoning, but seeing as <lj user="snaggleclaw"> seems to be showing similar symptoms, I'm guessing it's something else.

Mental note: Buy more toilet paper.

So, I haven't posted in a while. Might as well do something now.

Anyone needing a place to live? I've got a spare room in my house. It's not a bad little house at that. Well, put it this way, there's a whole spare back portion of the house, including the bedroom, and back.. loft.. thing. It's a Nedlands house. It's hard to explain. But either way, the back of the house is really secluded and private. Quite a lot of space too. Put it this way - I can barely tell there's anyone in the house when I'm in there.

There's a back yard that has lots of grass. That just about explains it. A large kitchen. 2 fridges at the moment. Also, 2 microwaves. One bathroom, and one toilet. The laundry exists, but I don't have a washing machine.. yet. The one out the back is dead. Laundrobar it is for me.

There's also the communal lounge, with a decent setup, more game consoles than you can poke a stick at (PS3, rock band/singstar stuff, X360, Wii, GCN, PS2, PSone, Dreamcast, N64, SNES and a sizable quantity of games), decent chunky speakers etc. And also a communal office/activity room. It's actually a bedroom that's been converted. But still, good nonetheless.

What else.. Cheapish rent. It's $285 for the whole house a week, with fortnightly payments. Quite decent for the Nedlands area, really. Then there's the bills like Electricity, Gas, Water, and Internet (syncing at about 13000Kbps, ie, relatively fast ADSL2+ with VOIP, and 802.11G wireless) Probably just split them two ways.

Probably looking for someone who's not a rowdy partying crazy alcoholic/chain smoker or the likes for now. Also, preferably someone who doesn't have parties every second day, or random unknown dodgy people always over. Quite the haven for a geekily inclined person.

Other than me, my girlfriend will just be staying over occasionally. And if she's not, then chances are I'll be at her place. So quite a lot of freedom.

There's a cat there. So, mm, allergies could be a problem. Although, she doesn't moult like crazy, so that could be less of a problem. The house is fully furnished, so to speak. So probably won't need any extra stuff, unless you really want it. The bedroom has a queen bed in it, 2 bedside tables, and a wardrobe in it.

If anyone knows of anyone wanting to move in, spread the word.
Oh, it's on Napier Street, which is down Stirling Highway between UWA and Claremont. It's right down the road from the IGA/Blockbuster video.

Kitty! I now has!
I was sad not to have one, ie after Isabelle was taken away, but now I've got a cute and cuddly little kitty!

It is black. Pure black. Like my soul... Or not. But yes. Black. Including her paws and nose. [info]snaggleclaw (who also gave 3 awesome cat toys to her) thinks it'd be cuter with pink feet and a pink nose, but eh, I think she's beautiful anyway. And it has Yellow eyes. She also likes to miaow. A lot.

Now, I was thinking of calling it typical black cat names.. Like Blacky. Or Midnight. Or Stalker, but thought that'd be stupid. Then I thought of the black cats in "Cats", well the Andrew Lloyd Webber one at least. Bustopher Jones was out. She's not obese. And Mr. Mistoffelees was also out, due to the gender differences. So that left the random black "un-named" cat so to speak. I didn't know what the name was at the time, so went without, but have since found out that her name is "Cassandra", which is quite a nice cat name in retrospect. But oh well.

The name that I stuck with was "Constansze", named after Mozart's Wife, or Stansze for short. It's sad that I only know this fact through the Amadeus movie. I probably spelt it wrong, but meh. (Yep, just checked it. It doesn't have the second 'S'. Ah well)

For some reason or another, my house was covered with fleas before I moved in, as [info]emitly found out, after she was covered in flea bites. So luckily setting off a flea bomb in the house has ridden it of the infestation. Stansze has also been treated for good measure, and as far as I can tell, the house, and its inhabitants appear to be flea free. That's a good thing.

Well, either way, cats are good company when people aren't available to see.

I randomly decided to have a look at some of my previous LJ posts. And to my surprise, they were filled with a lot of random crap. And now I think of it, that was initially what the intent of my LJ was to be - A hate and emo free place to just post DAILY random things I observe on a day to day basis. Now, clearly, I haven't been doing it daily, seeing as I update at a rate of 1 post a month. And secondarily, I've been quite emo lately, breaking my numero uno personal rule re: LJ.

I just typed two paragraphs about what I have been doing for the past few days, but then decided that a) it's probably not that interesting to read, b)was too soppy and sentimental and c) I probably should just keep it to myself. So I deleted those paragraphs. Lets just say that I really heart the people I've been seeing lately.

... Now I don't know what else to write. I haven't really noticed or observed anything that interesting.

Ah, here's something that I have observed! Mood and motivation are directly proportional. I know I'm stating the obvious, but I now am actually inspired to move a whole heap of furniture in my house - By myself! I need to get a room cleared for Role Playing tomorrow. I think. So that's exactly what I shall do! Pity I wasn't inspired earlier on. Yes, despite being totally sleep deprived, just being around really awesome friends lately has raised my spirits muchly. And I think I shall cut it there, fearing regressing into an emo typing asian guy.

Expect to have slightly more regular updates.

I'm feeling completely bored and spontaneous, so I'm doing a meme that I've already done on facebook.. that will synchronise, and appear on facbeook again.
The joys of technology.

Ok, here’s how this works:
You look at your Friends Page and then take the names of the last twelve people who have posted. If they've posted more than once, only use their name once and skip to the next person. If you don't have 12 people, go jump into traffic. Got it? Good.

Quiet. Very quiet. But spent in good company.
Not that much besides just hanging out, and making a Plush Magikarp. But it was fun.. Despite that fact that what technically should have taken 5 minutes, I managed to stretch out to 5 hours. Curse my OCD perfectionism. Thank god [info]snaggleclaw was there to occasionally tell me, "No, you're doing it wrong" - essentially.

In other news, Animal crossing was finally played on my wii, ie, after having bought it 2 months ago, and still having not played it. A new game was started, and the town was given a new name. Hell. I have no idea what Daniel and [info]snaggleclaw were thinking. "welcome to hell", "so, how do you like it here in hell", "I hope you enjoy your stay in hell" - Okay, I think I now see the appeal of naming a town this. I think I'll create a character to move in tomorrow.
The same can be said about Wii Fit. Again, not by me as much as others, but still, fun. Had to delete my previous save game though, ie due to old save files having password protection on some users.
Both games that I bought solely for their inclusion of an additional Nintendo accessory.

For some reason, my regular group of friends have stopped playing Smash Bros; Something we used to play a lot. Possibly due to me getting Rock Band. Or possibly due to small fun gatherings in general becoming scarce, as far as I'm aware. But due to this, I've gotten quite rusty. So it was great to be able to play with Daniel a fair bit, the last couple of days, to bring up my standard. Also, having a different opponent with different tactics has been quite beneficial. Either way, I don't think my standard has gotten back to my peak, and I doubt I'd be able to really contend in the waicon SSBB tournament. Ah well.

Chinese New year, technically was the 26th, however due to a) clashes with Australia day and b) my brother's plane coming in today, it will be held tomorrow, ie the 27th. So epic banquets shall be in order tomorrow. I just hope that [info]emitly and [info]snaggleclaw find something palatable to the non Asiatic tongue amidst the Asian foods. Eh, I'm sure Grandma will cook something agreeable with everyone's stomachs.

Well, despite not having a place to really call home right now, I'm feeling quite content. Which is good, especially seeing as my mood as of late has been fluctuating like a yo-yo. Sleep patterns have also been returning to something that can be considered regular.. err.. besides tonight, being 3am and all. Also, due to a lack of Coke and Coffee, my caffeine intake has substantially dropped, and that combined with my increase in sleep duration has returned my mind to one of somewhat relative normality. In particular, my bad habit of just saying what I'm thinking out loud has died down. However, as is evident in this LJ post, my ability to obscure it in writing has not.

Ah well, that's my LJ post for the week.. Time to update my twitter, and possibly fill out some mindless sill internet posty meme thing.

Being bored, having things to do, but not having the motivation to actually do anything. Yeah, that about sums up a lot right now.
Like, just starring at absolutely nothing, for no reason at all. It wells up a lot of strange feelings. Not even having the opportunity to blow it all out on a horn. It's frustrating. So much fuel, put to mindless waste.
Being left alone, the mind thinks. Too much. And that's not a good thing; it scares him. It really does.
Snapping out of it hopefully will be a good thing, relatively. Then there's the matter of knowing what he's snapping back to, and who or what will be there.
Everything coming and going, being destroyed, or taken away. And in some instances replaced by something better. This is all a bit too much to comprehend in such a small window of time.
Change. It seems to always happen. Just, not so dramatically, and sporadically.

This year, sometime soon, there will be an awakening of sorts, and it will be to a completely different place.

I'll actually post something of substance.. Some time. Later.
Eh, well, holidays are almost over. 3 weeks, then school starts again. Yay!
Bad things though that aren't good for work starting so soon seem to be pouncing out onto me left right and centre.

Currently I am using a rental car. It drives like a cow. No cargo space. No idea when my actual car is going to be fixed.
I'm currently living the life of a nomad. Not good. No idea when I can actually move back to .. wherever I end up living. Life in limbo. Scary.
My main computer is dead. It's taking me ages to actually construct a new one, and transfer all of my data over.
Haven't been able to practice Trombone properly for a while, due to a) having wisdom teeth removed, b) having them in for repairs, d) being uninspired and *blah* and d) having them all scattered between houses.

On the positive side:

Car is getting repaired. Woo. Shiny.
Err.. I guess, being a nomad has made me realise that I've got really good friends out there, who have put up with me being a hobo. ^_^
My new computer is going to be quite the beast.
All of my instruments are in good working order. And I've now got some motivation in me to do some major catchup on my practice routine. Yay for being happy once again.

So, without sounding too angsty, that's the fun times I've been having.

Also, just over a month to go till I see Phantom of the Opera. Squee! (Did I just say that? Crapola!)

I've run out of coke. And it's 9:30. And I can't be bothered going to a service station to buy more. Grr.

That is all.

While out for pancake lunch yesterday, I saw the iinet advertisement guy. Being in the company of other nerd minded individuals, I felt at ease squeeing over him.

Only afterwards did the idea of hunting him down, to get a group photo with him occur to me. And by then it was too late. We *tried* earnestly to track him down, but he got away. Oh well. There will be plenty more opportunities.

Anyway, I just found out from Sam that yesterday was the iinet open day, which no doubt was the reason he was there. Funnily enough, he looked exactly the same as he does in the ads. Right down to his clothes, hair and beard. Why this guy is a celebrity is beyond me.

Back to the present day, I'm tired, due to going to sleep at like 5am or something. It would seem that the ancient art of conversation still exists. Well, that and belting out music on hugeass speakers all night as well. I didn't receive any bricks, or molotov cocktails through my windows, so hopefully the neighbours didn't mind too much.

I've also got a hugeass ulcer on my lower lip. It could have easily been prevented, ie by simply not playing my trombone for a while to give it time to heal, but NooooOoo.. I'm a fool who plays every day anyway. Ironically, doing this has put me out of comission for longer than it would have if I had of just rested. The pain involved also prevents me from sleeping. Not good. So now, I'm taking a whole cocktail of medications to heal my mouth. Savacol first of all, to cause extreme pain, and anti septicise my mouth in general. Then there's the orally ingested mouth ulcer tablets. No idea how they work. SM-33 is next. Basically it looks like mercurochrome. And it hurts like hell, and tastes like concentrated bad. Finally is the horrid Kenalog. Think about getting a cross between snot and ear wax, and you get kenalog. A waxy, starchy gooey substance that smears on the inside of your mouth, and on your teeth. Worst of all, I can't actually play any of my brass instruments, without aggravating the wound any more than it already is. Oh well, I suppose that means I can polish up on my Piano, composition and "Rock Band" drumming. :P

Oh, not to mention general house cleaning. Yay! Janelle's away, so that means I can completely regut the house without getting in each other's way.

FInally; The Phantom of the Opera, Encore Class Package in the Chandelier reserve.. With the possibility of a backstage pass as well. All I can say is.. SEAKING! So very VERY excited about this. I've wanted to see the PotO my whole life, seeing as it was something that my whole family used to play/sing/make references to my whole life. Not to mention I absolutely love the music. Sure, it would have been nice to actually play in it, but that can wait for another time. I'd prefer not to spoil the experience, and just indulge in it in its full glory as a member of the audience.

25 November 2008 @ 08:52 pm

A moment where I have musical ideas bursting out of ears, my mind is relatively blank like a canvas, the house is empty and quiet, and relatively clean is a very rare thing. Today however, all of the above criterion have been met. Sadly, and unfortunately, I don't have any of my instruments at home today. 2 of my trombones are in for repairs, one trumpet is at Nel's dad's place, 2 trombones and a trumpet left at work. So that completely rules out that idea. I suppose I could just start writing the music out, but it's not as fun unless I can play it as I'm writing it. Oh well.

Next on the agenda is a small dilemma with what I am to do with my "mo." Originally, it was a competition with my brother to see who can grow the most manly beard/moustache which for an Asian, is actually quite difficult. This also coincided with Movember, and I'm happy to say that I've raised a grand total of $20 worth of sponsorship. Students primarily. And it also goes without saying that I beat my brother silly; he having shaved it off in defeat. Okay, probably not in defeat, but I like to see it as such.

Now, with November coming to a close very soon, I am torn between either keeping it, or shaving it all off. Keep in mind that I've never actually ever grown this much facial hair before. Also, feel free to laugh at my measly 3 week growth. Admittedly I did trim it back a little, because it was starting to look like a hobo beard.

Unfortunately, I don't actually have any decent photos of me and my mo, besides this shot I took randomly. It's very emo.

http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v378/143/103/708366323/n708366323_1400980_3595.jpg (links for people who aren't viewing this on LJ)

I told you so. Seemingly, it's actually grown a lot more since that shot. This is also the way my hair is currently. And it's kind of getting to the haircut stage. Well, according to most people's opinions. Personally, I'd like to grow it out, but someone always offers to cut it for me for free, or pay for me to go see a barber.

Just for a comparison, here is a recent shot of me, without the facial hair. In fact, the day I decided to stop shaving.

http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v353/109/47/557728908/n557728908_877960_626.jpg

Not the healthiest photo of me, I know. And for the record, I'm the one on the left. The other one is my brother.

Question time. Should I get rid of it? The mo that is. Not my brother. "Technically" with the school year coming to a close, I can just let me mo and hair grow out like a caveman without seeming too ogreish, however, I have no idea what I'd look like to say, everyday normal people, like my friends. Personally, because I'm not used to it, I think it looks very strange. At times, I think it's my brother when I see my own reflection in the mirror. Toothpaste also seems to get caught in it in the morning. Which makes my daily "brush teeth on the way to work" routine no longer viable.

Overall, I've had mixed responses. Some people say I look better with it; others go "WTF?" at it in disgust. Some even think that I drew it on for fun. One of the more interesting responses was that I looked like a character from a film called "Old Boy"

http://www.moviecritic.com.au/images/oldboy-hammer-fight-corridor-scene.jpg

I haven't seen it, but he looks scary. Kind of what I see myself looking like. Student's responses have all been positive strangely, saying I look older, and wisened.

The next question is; What should I do with my hair? I've pretty much always had it as a mop. It doesn't really get in the way that much. And if I grew it long enough, if it did get in the way, I'd tie it back, ie, what I occasionally do when it's windy, while driving with open windows etc. I'm only thinking this because just the other night, I was looking through old highschool photos, and noticed that I used to have it "short" occasionally. And it actually didn't look too bad. Admittedly, like a generic Asian, but still not bad.

Suggestions?

It's weird seeing 'students' out and about in a non school environment. In particular, I accidentally bumped in to a pair of my female students at Target in the city recently. Incidentally, I was in the toy section, looking at Mr. Men/Little Miss figures, making very unsuitable dodgy puns relating to the expressions of some of them, and possible alternative personas that they may have. I don't 'think' they heard me.

Anyway, that wasn't the main point. The point was that upon seeing and recognising me, the pair of them came up to give me a large hug. Mass confusion! I didn't recognise who they were at the time - Being out of uniform at the time, and looking about 18-19 or so. Naturally, I just assumed that they were just another group of friends. However, once I actually realised who they were, I was quite .. perplexed, saying to them "Um, Hi girls, err.. I really can't hug you right now.. But.. Er, sure.. Whatever.. " - Realising that they were already hugging me.

Only after they left did the people I was with realise that they were in fact students of mine, as they departed saying, "Bye Mr. Chan." Even freakier was hearing Hayley say "Hello Mr. Chan" to me, seeing as they students in question were only about a year or so younger than her. Possibly less.

I really do wonder what the rules are regarding familiarity with students in an out of school environment, seeing as technically I don't have any duty of care in that situation. Personally, I do think professionalism is the general rule of thumb, but still, I do wonder.

It's Rainbow Road.. It's the Place where you go, When you DIE! I'll Miss you again.. Uncle.

Okay, the above statement has nothing to do with anything. Well it does but .. Blah!

I tried to play some Mariokart Wii today. Just for fun, ie because I actually haven't really played it since buying it. Now the thing is, I'm quite an OCD player of Mariokart games, ie, I normally would completely start again if I don't come first. Sometimes I'd be content with just coming say.. 3rd or at worst 4th in a single race. But Noo! In one particular race, for a particular race, I actually managed to come 12th. And I was actually really trying. Only on 100cc at that!

The level in question was some volcano level, that some wise guy had the idea to build on a tectonic plate. Yes. So I felt pains with the earth just suddenly falling beneath my wheels. Then as I recovered, I ended up in like 6th place. As usual. Unfortunately (yes in this case) the computer decided to treat me with Golden mushrooms. These aren't good for levels involving random lava pits, rail less platforms that move, and general failure. And they insisted on repeatedly giving me them, and starmans! Things that pretty much make it faster for me to die.

The end result was just me getting a silver medal overall for that cup. Not the end of the world, but enough to make me turn me wii off in a hissy fit, and go to bed.

On the topic of Karts, I'm attempting to get a driver's licence. Woo.

26 September 2008 @ 12:55 am

It's been way too long since my last post. Possibly due to being busy as all hell, every day.

Well, holidays have actually started for me.. So to speak. School holidays at least. Yay? I'm really hoping to see more people than I did last break. In particular, Churchlands friends and people from Vooks. That's right, I still actually know you guys exist. ^_^

The reality however is that I'll probably still be really busy, and only end up seeing a handful of people.

Lets see.. Things that I have on my plate: Get a licence, do some music gigs, pantomime play, do some multi track brass recordings, write some more music, arrange more music, watch some TV series, de-cat-fur-ify my clothes, clean up the house, clean up the back yard, get rid of all my old computer stuff, potentially look for a new house to move into, make a huge batch of freezable dinners, upgrade/mod some computers, buy a new TV, buy a new laptop.

Now for some completely random thoughts at 12:30AM

My computer almost imploded today, sucking in everything around it in some kind of apocalyptic black hole/vortex. Oh wait, no, just one of the hard drives decided to die. Good ol percussive therapy solved all my problems, i.e., pulling the drive out, hitting each corner on the wall, then putting it back in. Works a charm every time.

Pity it didn't work for my mouse. Had to replace my Razer Habu.. Much annoyances at their thin thin wires. An RMA replacement is on its way in the mail. Meantime, I've decided to go to the Logitech way of life. And I'm actually ... liking it. The fact that it also matches my keyboard is another bonus.

I'm quite liking the redundancy of input devices existing on my desk at the moment. 3 keyboards (G15 for everyday/gaming, Prodikeys for everyday/music, Midi input device keyboard), 3x "mice" (G9 for everyday/gaming, MS Notebook BT mouse 5k for remote use and graphire4 for music/art) and 4x joypads (Sidewinder precision pro for flight/mech sims, PS2 controller for general gaming, 2 other generic pads for multiplayer emulation gaming.

I'd post more, but I really should be in bed.

Unisfa 30th: Fun times had. Admittedly, the food was a bit 'so so' - probably cos i was in the last table to be served. But the entry fee pretty much just covered the awesome times had in the hall of awesome. And lots and lots of drinks = win!

Sleepover at Janeys: Great, but disappointing. PEOPLE SUCK AT SLEEPOVER! Everyone pretty much went straight to bed. Unfortunately i was still buzzing from possibly 4 litres of coke courtesy of the above mentioned dinner party. So I stayed up till 5am, then got awakened 2 hours later by a Tal falling on my leg as she got ejected from the bed she was sleeping on. Couldn't sleep, so decided to review some sword drills/training from my days of training in the art of ninjutsu. I still kind of had it.

Tal's party: Yay, a failsafe awesome time. It was very fun. Met Tal's family. They were awesome. Had a really good (alcohol free) time. In fact, I'm very glad that I didn't actually touch any alcohol for the whole weekend. It's not like I can actually handle/properly absorb it anyway. Afterwards, was more random fun gaming.

Ewan's House: Had gaming fun with the usual ssbb crew, but also had some assorted fun times adding both tracy and janey to the fun mix. It was good to avoid having the standard sausage fest that we normally have. Although, a certain regular male SSBB player who will remain anonymous was definately most uncomfortable with some of the topics of conversation, and/or statements made by some of the non males in his presence. I suppose we are all a bit to tame.. strangely.

Finally, the next morning = GO3 plus random city walking. It was fun. Well, the city walking. We kind of did a rush job of the GO3, simply because as a group, nothing really stood out for us. We had a look at Soul Calibur 4, but decided against it due to the players sucking and not really providing any real entertainment. I can't believe I missed the Spore stand!

Now it's the start of the week. I had the standard 7:30 teaching start on Monday. Quite the pain, trying to get up on so little replenished energy. Now it's Tuesday. I brought my coat. But it's not stopping me from procrastinating on sleeping. And I was planning on waking up at 5AM as well. Doesn't look like that's going to happen at this rate.

Oh, I also randomly decided to audition for the Panto play as well. I'm slightly worried, because I told myself o avoid overcomitting myself like I did in first semester with all of my musicals. Then again, the musicals were tiring because each concert finished at like 12am 5 days a week on top of work. Hopefully this won't be as intensive, but nonetheless, I will be devoting my undivided attention to it, no matter what.

Eesha just told me today that the person who she works with at the Roc Shop thought that I was cute. It really made my day for some reason, ie because absolutely no one EVER compliments me in that way.. like, ever. It also however scares me.. that's not the person I am.

Didn't I say that I was going to make this short? Oops.

Going between jobs can be a pain. Sadly I don't drive, so I had to endure the rain. My cargo's rather heavy on Thursdays, being the EQ r\whore IRL - Namely, a trombone, a trumpet,a man bag, a large heavy brief  case of music, and an umbrella. So naturally, upon embarking on the bus, my hands were full as all hell.. Not to mention that I had my computer in my hand, open on Transperth Journey planner to try and find out exactly how I'm going to get around.

I reached into my bag to get my wallet, and barely managed to get the money out and pay. I then got change.  5 cent pieces. Great. They were a struggle to get into my wallet, but I managed. The real horror came in retrieving my bus ticket. Between the bus now moving, and holding a wallet and an umbrella, I had run out of hands to retrieve the said item. So I resorted to animalistic instincts, and used my mouth to pull it out. Big mistake.

Little did I know that transperth ticket stubs have razor sharp edges. So yes, as you guessed I got a killer paper cut on my top lip - On the inside! It is bleeding like crazy. I probably look like a blood crazed vampire. Now that would be fine for someone who doesn't have to use their lips all day, seeing as the lips are one of the quickest recovering parts of the body. unfortunately, I've still got about 4 hours more of brass teaching, so this is going to be quite murderous on both me.

To add insult to injury (literally), the bus that I was on clearly didn't realise that there was a human pack horse on board who would no doubt take an extra 5 seconds to gather his stuff before disembarking. So as I was exiting the bus, I felt the back door close on me. Just a little. I hope they have some kind of safety mechanism in place.

I think the world is trying to tell me to get a licence.

I Am A: Neutral Good Human Bard (3rd Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-15

Dexterity-14

Constitution-16

Intelligence-18

Wisdom-14

Charisma-15

Alignment:
Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Bards often serve as negotiators, messengers, scouts, and spies. They love to accompany heroes (and villains) to witness heroic (or villainous) deeds firsthand, since a bard who can tell a story from personal experience earns renown among his fellows. A bard casts arcane spells without any advance preparation, much like a sorcerer. Bards also share some specialized skills with rogues, and their knowledge of item lore is nearly unmatched. A high Charisma score allows a bard to cast high-level spells.

Why do I have to always meet really awesome people at the very end of the "holidays"? Today was the Jazz gig, and I met some really awesome people in the audience. So I went and had dinner with them afterwards.

It turned out that one of them was like.. seriously, my exact clone. Right down to the same subjects screwed up in uni, similar OCD nature, and overall general hyperactivity. Yes, it turned out that she also does music, and has no idea what year she's actually or what speciality. I thought that I was the only one. I now know someone else who is in 2nd/3rd/4th year music performance/education/composition. Yay!

Secondarily, what the heck am I still doing up this late? Tomorrow = 7AM start. GO TO SLEEP PETER!

Yes, I'm randomly posting because a) I haven't posted in a while (I don't think) and b) I've had waaaaaaay too much quality coffee for one day. Woo hoo.

I've decided today that I'm not getting any younger, and that I should probably actually start to actually look after myself a bit better. So as a new.. err.. something resolution starting today, I am no longer going to have sugar in my tea, and only put a single teaspoon into my coffees. I've already made the "attempted" conversion to softdrinks without sugar.. but it doesn't give me the same crazy buzz.. Yes, I'm talking to you Mr. Red Label Coke.

I actually miraculously managed to do something tonight! Albeit starting a tad late, but still it was something. Socialising! I need it to function; So I've discovered.

Jazz banding is fun. Due to being away for the past couple of weeks/month for the majority of the weekend, I've missed the last couple of rehearsals. Oh No! Thankfully no extremely challenging charts have been added to our set list.

I've decided to switch from first Trombone to the Bass trombone. I've been needing to workout my pedal tones a bit. And oh boy oh boy do I like it.  Just like the good ol' days. Also the fact that the other player is an awesome ex BBC player also lets me admire his awesome Jazz solos of delicacy and finesse, as opposed to mine that rely on raucous brutality, extreme range, and special effects.

Hmm, probably should have mentioned this a while ago, but meh. The band's got a gig tomorrow at the Hyde Park Hotel ballroom. 3 sets starting at 4:45, finishing at 7:45 with a 20 minute gap in between. I'm not sure if the tickets have sold out, or if you can still buy them at the door. Either way, if you're feeling bored, I suppose you could rock up and throw things at me. Preferably blunt objects. Like Stairs. And Golf courses.
